No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted

Josh’s Story:

In June of 2013, Josh suffered from a blood clot on his spinal cord which paralyzed him from his chest down. Josh is incomplete, meaning he has some sensation in his lower extremities but no movement. It’s possible Josh can regain some movement and sensation back. Josh’s injury level is a C8, but still has full function of his arms and hands.

On the day that changed Josh’s life forever, he was at work finishing his day at Atlanta Gas Light when he felt a tingling in his legs and couldn’t move them. Then it was like a light switch flipped and he was able to move his legs again and walk to his truck. After getting into his truck, it happened again, no movement. 911 was called and Josh was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where he underwent spinal surgery to remove the blood cloth that was pressing on his spinal cord preventing movement to his lower body. Josh spent a week in ICU and was blessed to be able to start his recovery journey at Shepard spinal Center. Josh spent 4 months down at Shepard Center and then was able to return home where he found his new way of life.

In April of 2014 Josh married his best friend Kelly and started a family in 2020 having their first son Lincoln, and their second son Weston in 2024.

Josh and his wife Kelly recently restored a 1989 Fox body.

Why

We are raising money for Josh to be able to start his Stem Cell journey at CPI (Cellular Performance Institute) where he will undergo treatments in hopes of regaining movement and feeling from the chest down.

Once Josh is home, he will start physical therapy to help rebuild his muscles and regain movement which he has been without for 11 years.
